The project titled “The experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ people of French expression in Saskatchewan” is seeking research participants. This project is a collaboration between Co-Principal Investigators Dr. Jérôme Melançon and Mx. Jacq Brasseur, along with support from Research Assistant Mackenzy Vida.
Jacq and Mackenzy are proud members of the francophone queer community in Saskatchewan, and Jérôme is an allied professor at La Cité who is committed to disrupting anti-queer behaviours and perspectives in Saskatchewan’s francophone and francophile spaces.
During this project, we’re exploring the questions:
- Primary question: How does an identification with the fransaskois and francophone community relate to the identification with gender and sexually diverse communities?
- Are people queer differently in French than they are in English? Why?
- In the perfect world, what would people have access to to allow their francoqueer identity to thrive?
This project has received Ethics Approval from the University of Regina Ethics Board (REB #2022-063) on September 22, 2022.
